Fernanda Vera
Digital Illustrator

Born in Santiago de Chile in 1995.
My art showed up at a very young age. Inspired by animated movies, cartoons and japanese animation during the late 90's and early 2000's, drawing and colouring was always an activity I enjoyed and performed for my family and friends at school. While at home, my mother would always share time with me handcrafting little, but satisfying pieces, such as embroidery, beadwork and simple paper creations.

My first approach to digital illustration was in 2012, after being invited to observe a 3D car modeling online lesson. This was like a fire inside of me and shed some light on my questions on how all the digital content I ever saw and loved was made.

At 16 years old, I started using my first Wacom Pen tablet and learning how to operate Adobe tools, Photoshop being my biggest and dearest ally.

Thanks to my curious nature and a growing passion for digital art, I decided to improve myself with the tools I had in my power: YouTube, Adobe tutorials, Crehana and Domestika courses, along with endless inspiration from media and amazing artists on the rising Instagram platform, made me enhance my skills and somewhat, build a drawing style.

Despite my professional career as an English-Spanish Translator and current occupation as a Language Assistant based in Prague since 2022, all these experiences and my presence online, have happily led to collaborations with one of the best Publishing companies in the world, Penguin Random House, giving me the opportunity to illustrate 3 children's and young people's books, one of which even has my illustrations on the book cover!

My skills in the world of letters and Education have given me the chance to find creative and accurate solutions in my professional life, as well as they have fed my curiosity, my energetic personality and my colorful mindset towards the world, which I am happy to share with a fresh point of view or learn new skills in the best interest of any project I am dedicated to.
